Leather Cover Keypoach

Materials:

1 x #5 Lace Yarn, Color of your choice

1 x Synthetic Leather

1 x Metal Button

1 x Key Chain Ring

1 x Star Charm (optional) – can unwanted earrings as a substitute

2.5mm Hook

Ch: Chain

SC: Single Crochet

SCBLO: Single Crochet Back Loop Only

SS: Slip Stitch

Note:

We will work this piece from side to side making a Big Rectangle then creating the folds by using Single Crochet Back Loop Only on both the sides. Thereafter, we will stitch up the Sideand Topto create the poach.

We will then separately crochet the Strap to work as the ‘Pull-Up String’ to hold the Key Ring and Keys in the Poach. 

Main:

Start with Ch26. 

Row 1:Work 1 SC in the 2^ndCh from Hook. 1 SC for the remaining 24 Ch. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 2:1 SC in each stitch through 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 3 to 20:Repeat Row 2 and complete till Row 20. 

Row 21: SC BLO through 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 22 to 23:1 SC in each and every 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 24: SC BLO through 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 25 to 26:1 SC in each and every 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 27:SC BLO through 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 28 to 46:1 SC in each and every 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 47: SC BLO through 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 48 to 49:1 SC in each and every 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 50:SC BLO through 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Row 51 to 52:1 SC through all 25 stitches. Ch1 and turn. (25)

Trimmings for poach opening (1 side only):

Ch1 and turn to the longest part of the whole rectangle and work 1 SC through all 52 stitches. Cut off and leave a long tail behind for stitching the sides up. 

Stitch both the shortest sides of the rectangle together to form the poach that resembles a paper bag. Then stitch up the other side (without the trimmings) of the poach together leaving only a small gap in the middle to loop through the ‘Pull-String’ for the Key Ring later. 

Pull String: 

Ch30, 1 SC from 11^thCh from hook. SC through remaining 19 Ch. Ch 6 and do a SS to the 1^ststitch from the start of the pull string.  Cut off and weave in loose ends. 

There will be 2 Loop at both end of the String. The biggest loop will tie the Key Ring while the smallest loop will be served as the button hole. 

Leather Cover: 

Cut out an elongated triangle. Approximate gauge W7 cm x H5.5 cm then stitch to the back of the poach. Sew on the button and the poach is ready!
